Lots happening across London this weekend with free festivals on both sides of the river.  Walthamstow Festival takes place on Saturday with Grammy Nominated remixer Son Of Dave headlining the main stage plus stalls, belly dancers, samba bands, kids area, Ball Room, sports displays, loads of street performers and fairground rides.

On Sunday the Young People's Caribbean Carnival begins at Walthamstow Town Hall and ends in the town square where no less than Shola Ama, Omar, Peter Hunnigale and Mica Paris will feature on the main stage.

South of the river, Bermondsey Carnival ends at The Event in Southwark Park on Sunday where Alexandra O'Neal, backed by The Blockheads headline the main stage.  On the same day in South London, Lewisham People's Day is 25 years old and has over 5 stages where the likes of Harare and The James Taylor Quartet will entertain over 30,000 people.

Lots of fine folk will be both protesting and lamenting the loss of RISE Festival this year by holding a picnic in Finsbury Park on Sunday from 2pm, whilst on Friday the squatters in MPs Ann and Alan Keen's second home have an eviction hearing on Friday and are calling for support outside the court.

Sydenham Arts Festival's Picnic in the Park, Thamesmead Festival and London Bridge Anniversary Festival also all take place over the weekend .
