London Pride 2009 is the biggest show in town with stages in Trafalgar, Soho and Leicester Square with the much of Soho closed to accommodate the huge street party. The parade begins at 1pm from Bond Street on Saturday 4th July to Trafalgar Square where Jimmy Somerville< kelly Le Roc and Heather Small all take to the stage.
Saturday also sees the return of Greenford Carnival, which costs a quid to get in (kids are free) and has two music stages plus loads of kids and sports activities.
Both Streatham andLeytonstone have festivals beginning on Saturday and will have many free and cheap events over the next two weeks.
Brent Respect Festival on Sunday features Peyote For President and all female reggae band Sista on the main stage and also has a theatre/performance tent, dance stages, dog shows, quiet story space, loads of kids activiies and workshops plus a fairground.
Also taking place over the weekend are the North London Punx Picnic and Southwark Irish Festival whilst on the South Bank the National Theatre has the Circus in residence.
